LANKESTER GARDENS AND OROSI VALLEY

We head towards Costa Rica’s first capital, Cartago. Here we will stop to see the beautiful Basilica of our “Virgen de los Angeles” (Virgin of the Angels), with rich displays of carvings, statues and art. After our visit to the Basílica de los ángeles we will continue to Lankester Gardens, the center of investigation of the University of Costa Rica, which protects more than 800 species of orchids and bromeliads, in addition to various other plants.
Thereafter we will continue to the Orosi Valley with its extraordinary beauty. Here it is possible to visit one of the few colonial temples that are still in use, and the Orosi Valley is also where we will make our stop to enjoy a delicious lunch. On the way back we will have the possibility to observe the rustic Casa del Soñador, well known for it’s rustic Costa Rican art.
